Once Kunal Deshmukh’s name is taken, Emraan Hashmi’s name immediately comes to mind. Kunal began his career as an assistant to Mohit Suri and, even after establishing himself as an independent filmmaker, his films were dominated by Emraan Hashmi. Emraan Hashmi is a brand in Hindi film whose image has been tainted by his own fans. The audience was never permitted to see this outstanding actor’s true performance. For the first time, director Kunal Deshmukh, who graduated from the Bhatt camp’s film school, collaborated with a hero other than Emraan Hashmi. By the way, no one in the film ‘Shiddat’ seems to be a hero. One is a government official who attempts to look excessively rigorous, while the other is an athlete who flaunts on the playground and considers playing hockey a second-class obligation. Both characters, as well as their heroines, are highly fabricated.

As catchy as the film’s title is, I wish the film itself could have been as catchy. Upon seeing the film’s title and trailer, it was clear that this would be a narrative about individuals who love passionately. However, although Kunal, who has studied filmmaking in Goa, Mumbai, and New York, may not be familiar with the term’shiddat,’ the film’s authors have made no attempt to incorporate the term’s meaning into the film. Dheeraj Ratan has collaborated extensively with Vikram Bhatt. He was also given the name in Punjabi movies. However, neither his tale nor a single line of conversation in the whole film should be recalled. The names of stalwarts such as Pooja Ladha Surti and Sridhar Raghavan seem to have been exploited only to boost the film’s brand value.
The Katha group created two love tales centered on two couples and incorporated them into the culture. The emphasis of refugees on living abroad and accomplishing something gave the term shiddat its origin. It’s irrelevant if a good hockey player at the National Sports Camp develops an addiction to a terrible swimmer. However, the behaviors that this hockey player seems to be engaging in are not typical of any camp. And in exchange for female gamers taking naked photographs of male players? Whoever came up with the concept to demonstrate women’s empowerment is a moron. Later on, a lengthy conversation about love, yearning, ethics, and thinking ensues. There are a couple sequences with Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol that go as astray as the slogan of a cold drink advertising.

Sunny Kaushal attempted to play a heroin ‘Bhangra Pa Le’ even before the film ‘Shiddat’. He also appeared in several supporting parts. If big brother Vicky Kaushal is a hero, then little brother will do great things as well. This way of thinking is incorrect. Sunny Kaushal, who is now seated on the bench of Aparshakti Khurana, still has a long way to go before he can call himself an actor. When he is mainly seen emulating Rajkumar Rao while performing, he has to be unique in order to succeed here. Radhika Madan believes Nakhra is only angry. However, tantrums, being bad, and being fussy are all distinct mindsets. Radhika should spend a few days doing theatre to discover the difference between them. Nothing in the film is more unique than Diana Penty. Mohit Raina has been displaying so much on OTT these days that his commendable effort in this issue has been overlooked.
